Kevin A. Flautt
Kevin Flautt is a civil litigator with an emphasis on public entity defense litigation and construction law for both private and public clients. A partner in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Sacramento office, his practice broadly encompasses all aspects and stages of litigation for clients in a variety of settings. Kevin practices in both state and federal court.
Specifically, Kevin’s litigation practice encompasses litigation on behalf of public agency and private business clients in labor and employment matters, the CVRA, FAIR MAPS Act and other election law disputes, discrimination, sexual harassment, disability rights discrimination and accommodation, 42 U.S.C. § 1983 litigation, workplace safety, employee privacy rights, leaves of absences, and C.C.P. § 1085 and C.C.P. § 1094.5 writ of mandate proceedings, as well as wage and hour and collective bargaining issues, including resulting labor and discipline arbitrations. Kevin has also provided City Attorney/Special District general counsel services, including litigation risk assessment and management, drafting and editing of ordinances, resolutions and contracts and presentations in open and closed session. Kevin enjoys public contracts litigation, and drafting and review of construction and consultant contracts and negotiations.
Throughout his career, Kevin has also focused on maintaining an active practice in administrative litigation before the Public Employment Relations Board, the Los Angeles Employment Relations Board, and the NLRB, working for both management and union side clients.
Kevin grew up in the Sacramento area and currently lives near Discovery Park, where he enjoys barbecuing outdoors, baking, and unsuccessfully attempting to keep up with his two year old Belgian Malinois mix named Bella.
