BBK’s 2023 Operation Backpack Supports the Future Generations of Coachella Valley
Over 600 Backpacks and School Supplies Donated to Cesar Chavez Elementary
August is considered one of the hottest months of the year but it is also when most school districts open their doors to welcome back students for continued growth and development. Best Best & Krieger also celebrates its annual Operation Backpack program and this year the firm donated more than 600 backpacks and school supplies to the students at Cesar Chavez Elementary School in the Coachella Valley School District.
“The excitement and smiles on the students’ faces reflects how appreciative we are here at Cesar Chavez,” said Cesar Chavez Elementary School Principal, Alex Kirk. “The backpacks and supplies provided by BBK ensure each student has all of the essentials they need to be successful in school. BBK’s generosity and donation will be one of the highlights of the 2023-2024 school year.”
In support of this year’s donation, BBK hosted a virtual Bingo for Backpacks fundraiser with firm employees in July. Through annual donations from the firm’s attorneys, staff and vendors, the firm has helped more than 7,000 families and students over the past 14 years since the inception of BBK’s Operation Backpack initiative.
“BBK takes pride in supporting the communities in which we work and live,” said BBK Indian Wells Office Managing Partner, Carlos Campos. “The firm is honored to be able to share in the excitement of a new school year and contribute to the future of Coachella Valley’s next generation of leaders.”
BBK would like to thank Staples, Inc. for assisting with bulk supplies and Merit Moving and Storage’s Alyson Mattox, who coordinated the availability of a truck and to Tino Figueroa, the driver of the truck, that delivered 41 boxes of backpacks and supplies to Cesar Chavez. Additionally, BBK sincerely thanks the administration and staff at the Cesar Chavez Elementary School for their partnership and commitment to the young minds of tomorrow.
