BBK’s Operation Backpack Sends Kids Back to School Prepared
More than 500 backpacks and school supplies donated to K-8 students at Oregon’s Warm Springs Academy
After 15 years, Best Best & Krieger LLP’s (BBK) Operation Backpack has become a much-anticipated back to school tradition. On September 4, 2024, each student at the Warm Springs Academy, part of Oregon’s Jefferson County School District 509-J was welcomed back with a backpack loaded with the supplies they need.
“Through the generosity of BBK and its employees, each student received the essentials they needed to start the school year off right,” said Raymond (Captain) Moody, Vice Chair, The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Reservation. “We’re grateful to the firm and appreciate BBK supporting our Warm Springs kids and community.”
BBK kicked off its 2024 Operation Backpack initiative with a virtual “Bingo for Backpacks” fundraiser in July, which was open to the firm’s attorneys, professional staff, vendors and their families. “I’m thrilled at the response we’ve received to our Operation Backpack initiative and the ‘Bingo for Backpacks’ online event,” notes Bend office Managing Partner Erin MacDonald. “It shows how much our people care about the communities in which we live and work.”
BBK thanks everyone involved in the effort, from firm attorneys and staff to their families, area businesses, and the staff and administration of Warm Springs K-8 Academy.
