Best Best & Krieger Earns High Marks in AmLaw and National Law Journal 2023 Rankings
National Media Recognizes the Firm’s Ongoing Commitment to Diversity and Growth in the Legal Services Industry
Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK) has been recognized by The American Lawyer and The National Law Journal for its ongoing efforts in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and continued growth in the legal services industry.
The American Lawyer’s latest 2023 Diversity Scorecard tracks a firm’s makeup from racial and ethnic standpoints based on “percentage of racial and ethnic diversity across lawyer head count by role; leadership of the executive committee, offices and practice and industry groups; and their hiring, retention and promotion of diverse talent.” This year, BBK scored in the top 30% of Am Law 200 firms, which reflects our emphasis on furthering our DEI efforts.
The firm’s DEI strides were further emphasized by The National Law Journal’s 2023 Women in Law Scorecard, which ranks the largest 350 law firms based on their percentage of female attorneys and female partners. This year, BBK ranked 23, a consistent high mark for the firm.
BBK Chief Talent Officer Danielle Sakai is encouraged by the news and sees additional growth in the firm’s future noting, “We understand why diversity at BBK, and in the legal industry, is a priority for clients, prospective clients, and future firm attorneys. Diverse teams help foster diverse perspectives which leads to more robust strategy, better work product and positive results. At BBK, our attorneys and professional staff reflect and respect the values and demographics of the communities and clients that we serve.”
BBK’s expansion efforts were also recognized by The National Law Journal in its latest NLJ 500. This year, BBK ranked 191 among 500 firms, placing the firm in the top 200. The NLJ 500 “tracks the size and geographic reach of the nation’s largest law firms.” It gives readers insight into which markets and law firms are growing the fastest, and includes demographic information on “the market power” of everyone at the firm, from associates to equity partners. The NLJ 500 also breaks down additional information providing insight on LGBTQ+ members, salaries and more.
BBK is honored to be recognized by the legal community for our continued diversity achievements and focus on continued growth. Learn more about BBK’s DEI commitment and open positions.
