Frank Ahn
Frank Ahn is of counsel in the Municipal Law practice group and Advanced Records Center of Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK) where he represents public agencies on matters related to the Public Records Act and public contract compliance.
He joins BBK from the San Diego City Attorney’s Office where he advised City Infrastructure staff on legal matters related to local and state regulations and drafted ordinances and resolutions regarding emergency repairs and federally funded projects impacted by Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) and Economic Development Administration (EDA) requirements.
Frank has dedicated the majority of his career to public service including a significant amount of time as a supervising attorney, writ attorney, and staff attorney with Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers (LADL). As supervising attorney, he was responsible for training and supervising attorneys and managing a non-profit law firm. As a writ attorney, he prepared and argued statutory, mandamus, and supersedeas writ petitions, response briefs, and motions before the Second District California Court of Appeal. During his time at LADL, Frank also co-founded the Community Awareness Project (COAP) to raise public awareness about child welfare issues and promote collaboration between different stakeholders in the dependency system such as training Los Angeles County Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers. Frank also co-founded the Los Angeles Parent Hopeline, which provides critical guidance to parents and family members navigating the child welfare investigation process.
In his spare time, Frank enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and two young children, Natalie and William. He is also a crossword enthusiast and a lifelong fan of the LA Clippers and Dodgers.
