Marco Ornelas Lopez

Marco Ornelas Lopez is an associate in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Municipal and Litigation practice groups in the Los Angeles office. Marco focuses on municipal and public entity representation.

While attending the UC College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly Hastings), Marco took classes that focused specifically on municipal law. He participated in the Legal Education Opportunity Program and was selected as BB&K’s Diversity Fellow. He also participated in the Hastings Moot Court program, placing in the Hispanic National Bar Association and National Online Moot Court competitions. Marco served on the board of the nation’s first-tier Moot Court program and coached the 2021 Hispanic National Bar Association’s national championship team. Additionally, Marco served as articles editor and development editor of the Hastings Environmental Law Journal, and was elected the 3L president of the Associated Students of UC College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly Hastings). In 2021, Marco was an editor of the Municipal Law Handbook.

Before law school, Marco attended the University of California, Riverside where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. While at UCR, he was involved in the Delta Chi fraternity, political organizing and student government.

Marco lives in Los Angeles with his dog Bruno and likes to adventure around Los Angeles taking film photography.
