Samuel Johnson is an associate in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Environmental and Natural Resources Law practice group. For his undergraduate career, Samuel studied Environmental Economics at the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability. He continued studying the intersection of economics, the environment, and the law during law school, where he served as the Vice President of Southwestern’s Environmental Law Society. His work in water quality began during his clerkship with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, where he was tasked with analyzing state and federal regulatory and legal developments concerning emerging contaminants.

Since joining BBK, Samuel’s work has focused on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, including 3M and DuPont drinking water settlements. In addition, he handles Clean Water Act, Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act, and other water quality issues for Cities and Special Districts across California.

When he isn’t working, Samuel enjoys birdwatching with his kids, playing basketball, and watching Big Ten sports.
