San Diego Business Journal Recognizes Leading Special Districts Attorney
The San Diego Business Journal has selected Best Best & Krieger LLP Partner Paula de Sousa as a 2021 Leader in Law finalist, in recognition of Paula’s indelible impact on the San Diego community. The awards program, now in its third year, recognizes the accomplishments of leading lawyers within the San Diego business community.
While much of Paula’s work lies just beneath the surface, the legal services Paula provides touch the infrastructure necessities that communities throughout the state rely upon — water, wastewater and recycled water, to name a few. Paula, who serves as general counsel to public agencies throughout Southern California, has extensive experience in municipal law, special districts, water, environmental law and transportation. She is particularly knowledgeable on public contracting matters as well as issues related to California’s Local Agency Formation Commissions.
Paula routinely advises public agency clients on significant issues and matters impacting local residents and businesses. Paula’s care goes well beyond the agencies she represents and she is very aware of the short- and long-term impact her work has on the communities, people and businesses these agencies serve.
